A replacement Boeing 777-200 registration N771UA departed Washington about 10 hours after landing back and reached Sao Paulo with a delay of 15 hours.
According to a passenger the captain announced the aircraft had suffered a partial loss of the communication equipment and therefore returned to Washington.
