A Sky Aviation Fokker 50, registration PK-ECD performing flight SYA-350 from Tanjung Pinang to Natuna (Indonesia) with 44 people on board, overran the end of the runway 18 while landing in Natuna during heavy rain and reduced visibility at about 11:15L (04:15Z). The aircraft came to a stop with all gear on soft ground with the main gear a few meters past the end of paved surface. No injuries occurred, the aircraft sustained minor damage.

The airline confirmed the aircraft went past the end of the runway, all occupants are safe.

Local Authorities confirmed the aircraft went off the runway reporting the right hand tyres burst in the process, following a failure to engage reverse the crew attempted to steer the aircraft to the right away from the sea to their left.

The airport was closed for about 3 hours.

Indonesia's Air Force (TNI-AU) reported the crew said after landing they had problems with the propellers entering beta range (reverse thrust) and brakes, the right hand tyres burst causing the aircraft to leave the runway. The aircraft was removed 3 hours after the incident.

Natuna Airport [WION], also known as Ranai Airport, offers a runway 18/36 of 2560 meters/8400 feet length.

No Metars are available, the local weather station reported at 10:00L: Temperature 31 deg C, Dew point 24 deg C, 63% relative humidity, visibility 8000 meters, southerly winds at 12 knots, light mist. At 13:00L the weather station reported: Temperature 24 deg C, dew point 23 deg C, 95% humidity, visibility 1000 meters, southerly winds at 5 knots, thunderstorm with rain.
