An Aeromexico Boeing 737-700, registration XA-AAM performing flight AM-258 from Mexico City to Ciudad Juarez (Mexico), was descending towards Ciudad Juarez when the crew reported a hydraulic failure affecting the flaps. The aircraft continued for a flaps up landing on Ciudad Juarez's runway 03 at a higher speed than normal at 10:09L (16:09Z), a number of tyres deflated causing damage to tyres and wheels of the aircraft as well as minor damage to the runway surface. Emergency services cooled down the brakes.

The aircraft was unable to depart for its scheduled return flight AM-279, the flight was cancelled. The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 24 hours, then positioned back to Mexico City and resumed service.

The airport performed repairs of the runway surface later the day.

Several radar websites create confusion around XA-AAM claiming the aircraft flew flight AM-419 from Houston to Mexico City on Jul 5th 2017 (past the occurrence time), however, this flight was performed by XA-EAC.
