An Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190, registration C-FMZW performing flight AC-271 (Dep Jun 18th) from Toronto,ON to Winnipeg,MB (Canada) with 89 people on board, was descending towards Winnipeg about 60nm east of Winnipeg when the crew received failure messages for autopilot and autothrottle, both flight management and guidance systems ceased functioning though remaining powered, airspeed indications on both primary flight displays were lost and the yaw damper became inoperative. The crew declared PAN PAN PAN, initiated the AVNX MAU 3A FAIL checklist and consulted with dispatch and maintenance. The crew managed to reset both flight management and guidance computers and to reengage autopilot, autothrottle and yaw damper, carried out an ILS approach to Winnipeg's runway 36 and landed safely.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance replaced a modular avionics unit's (MAU3) network interface card and inspected the aircraft. A service difficulty report was filed.
