A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700, registration N795SW performing flight WN-607 from San Jose (Costa Rica) to Baltimore,MD (USA) with 123 passengers and 5 crew, was enroute near Grand Cayman (Cayman Islands) when an electrical odour was noticed in the cabin prompting the crew to divert to Grand Cayman Airport for a safe landing.

A replacement Boeing 737-700 registration N294WN was dispatched from Baltimore to Grand Cayman, continued the flight as WN-8891 and reached Baltimore with a delay of about 19 hours.

The airline reported the passengers were taken to hotels over night. The aircraft was removed from service to determine the cause of the odour.
