An Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190, registration C-FLWH performing flight AC-771 from Newark,NJ (USA) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 101 people on board, was descending through FL240 towards Toronto when an abnormal odour was detected in the cockpit prompting the crew to declared PAN. The crew advised there was no visible smoke. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Toronto's runway 06L about 20 minutes later.

The occurrence aircraft resumed service about 15 hours after landing.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance could not find any faults and returned the aircraft to service. The aircraft completed 28 sectors without further anomalies.
