A JAL Japan Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration JA305J performing flight JL-3049 from Tokyo Narita to Sapporo (Japan) with 99 people on board, landed on Sapporo's runway 19L at 20:17L (11:17Z) slowed and vacated the runway via high speed turn off B8 (first high speed turn off) but went off the edge of the taxiway and became disabled within the runway protected area. There were no injuries.

Runway 19L was closed for about 60 minutes as result of the occurrence.
