On Nov 1st 2016 Germany's BFU released their May Bulletin reporting the Boeing 737-800 was cleared to land but went around due to another aircraft on the runway. During the climb out a loss of separation occurred with the departing Airbus. The occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated.
An Easyjet Airbus A319-100, registration G-EZEN performing flight U2-4553 from Berlin Schoenefeld (Germany) to Copenhagen (Denmark) with 146 passengers and 6 crew, departed runway 07L just prior to FR163 and was climbing through 500 feet about 1.5nm ahead of the Boeing when the Boeing initiated the go-around. The Boeing turned right about 30 degrees immediately after initiating the go-around climbing over the airport's terminal, a minute after the go around the separation was 200 feet vertical and 2nm horizontal, then the Boeing maneouvered to join a downwind and the aircraft became clear of conflict.
In their preliminary report the BFU reported that tower was staffed by a trainee air traffic controller under supervision by a fully licensed training controller. At 07:32:05Z the trainee controller cleared the Airbus for takeoff: "... landing is two miles out, wind one five zero degrees, eight knots, runway zero seven left, cleared expedite departure, tschüss". At 07:32:36Z the trainee issued landing clearance to the Boeing: "wind one four zero, eight knots, runway zero seven left, you are cleared to land." At 07:33:06Z the Boeing reported they were going around: "... going arround, turning right now, heading zero nine zero" and was instructed to turn right 30 degrees.
The BFU reported that following the go around the separation between the aircraft reduced to 500 feet vertical and 0.064nm horizontal.
