A THY Turkish Airlines Airbus A330-200, registration TC-JIM performing flight TK-711 from Islamabad (Pakistan) to Istanbul (Turkey), was enroute at FL380 about 110nm northeast of Trabzon (Turkey) when the crew decided to divert to Trabzon due to an engine problem, that prompted the crew to shut the engine down. The aircraft performed a safe single engine landing on Trabzon's runway 11 about 25 minutes later. The aircraft rolled to the end of the runway and attempted to turn around to backtrack the runway to the terminal, however, got stuck about 90 degrees into the turn. A tow truck was dispatched to the aircraft and towed the aircraft to the apron.

The airline had told Turkish media on Sep 22nd, the aircraft diverted due to a technical malfunction.
