A military aircraft was crossing the A321's flight track passing from the left to the right, initially maintaining FL270, however, before crossing the flight path of the A321 began a descent.
As result the A321 crew received a TCAS resolution advisory to descend which the crew complied with, after a descent of 500 feet another TCAS resolution advisory to reverse descent and climb now occurred, which the crew complied with too.
After being clear of conflict the A321 as well as the military aircraft continued to their destinations without further incidents.
Spain's CIAIAC opened an investigation into the occurrence reporting the minimum separation between the two aircraft reduced to 400 feet vertically and 0.4nm horizontally.
On Jan 29th 2019 the CIAIAC reported the investigation has been concluded, however, due to the involvement of military the publication and public dissemination of the final report will be restricted.
