A Shenzhen Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration B-6939 performing flight ZH-9638 from Shenyang to Zhengzhou (China), was climbing out of Shenyang when the crew reported a fire indication, stopped the climb at 3400 meters (FL112) and returned to Shenyang for a safe landing about 17 minutes after departure. Attending emergency services found no trace of fire, heat or smoke, the aircraft taxied to the apron.

A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration B-6357 reached Zhengzhou with a delay of 4.5 hours.
