A China Eastern Airlines Airbus A330-200, registration B-5936 performing flight MU-771 from Shanghai Pudong (China) to Amsterdam (Netherlands), was descending towards Amsterdam when the crew needed to shut the right hand engine (Trent 772) down. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Amsterdam's runway 36R.

The return flight MU-772 was cancelled.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Amsterdam about 52 hours after landing.
