A BH Air Balkan Holidays Airbus A320-200, registration LZ-BHJ performing flight 1B-5508 from Glasgow,SC (UK) to Varna (Bulgaria), was enroute at FL370 about 170nm southwest of Billund (Denmark) when the crew reported an engine (CFM56) failure, erroneously squawked loss of communication instead of general emergency, drifted down to FL100 and diverted the aircraft to Billund for a safe landing on Billund's runway 27 about 45 minutes later.

A replacement Airbus A319-100 registration LZ-AOA was dispatched to Billund, continued the flight and reached Varna with a delay of 7 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground about 22 hours after landing.
