A Busy Bee Congo Dornier Do-228, registration 9Q-CSL performing a flight from Goma to Butembo (Democratic Republic of Congo) with 11 passengers and 2 crew, was on approach to Butembo when the crew could not extend the left main gear. The crew decided to return to Goma, informed Goma tower about being forced to land left main gear up, and at about 11:00L (09:00Z) landed on Goma's runway 35 keeping the aircraft on the runway until speed decayed sufficiently to lose rudder authority. The aircraft veered to the left and departed the runway crossing a ditch and coming to a stop on soft ground with all gear damaged. There were no injuries, the aircraft sustained substantial damage.
