The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 21 hours before resuming service.
Simferopol Airport reported the aircraft landed about 4 meters to the right of the runway, rolled outside of the runway for about 200 meters before the aircraft got fully onto the runway.
Russia's (currently in control of Crimea/Simferopol) Rosaviatsia Southern Branch have opened an investigation into the occurrence. The Russian Transport Prosecutor responsible for the region opened another investigation.
The status of Crimea and Simferopol is disputed. According to international law and United Nations the Crimea belong to the Ukraine although Russia annexed Crimea in 2014.
