A Thomas Cook Airbus A321-200, registration G-TCDD performing flight MT-2152 from Manchester,EN (UK) to Paphos (Cyprus), was enroute at FL330 about 170nm eastsoutheast of Manchester when the crew decided to return to Manchester due to a hydraulic problem. The aircraft entered a hold at FL100 to burn off fuel and landed safely back in Manchester about 2:50 hours after departure.

A replacement Airbus A321-200 registration G-TCDZ reached Paphos with a delay of 5 hours.

A passenger reported the crew advised of a hydraulic problem with the landing gear.

The airline reported a mild technical fault.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Manchester 9 hours after landing.
