A Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N394DL performing flight DL-47 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to New York JFK,NY (USA), was climbing out of Amsterdam when the crew stopped the climb at FL240 reporting a hydraulic failure and decided to return to Amsterdam. The aircraft landed safely on Amsterdam's runway 18R about 40 minutes after departure.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 3.5 hours, then departed again and reached New York with a delay of 4 hours.
