A Westjet Boeing 737-700, registration C-FKIW performing flight WJ-2246 from Calgary,AB (Canada) to Puerto Vallarta (Mexico) with 134 people on board, was enroute at FL350 about 510nm northnortheast of Las Vegas,NV (USA) when a strong electrical odour was noticed in the aft cabin. The monitors of the inflight entertainment system were not working. The crew decided to divert to Las Vegas where the aircraft landed safely about 75 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported the monitor box at seat 22B was very hot.
