The aircraft was unable to continue its schedule and is still on the ground in Phoenix about 17 hours after landing.
A passenger reported he believed the lightning struck near his window, there was a bright flash and a sound like a gun shot. The passenger commented he had experienced a number of lightning strikes while on aircraft but none as dramatic as this one.
