A PSA Airlines Canadair CRJ-700 on behalf of American Airlines, registration N703PS performing flight AA-5394 from Des Moines,IA to Washington National,DC (USA) with 69 people on board, was enroute at FL370 about 40nm north of Dayton,OH (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Dayton due to a hydraulic failure. On approach to Dayton the crew reported they had been able to restore the hydraulic system but continued the diversion. The aircraft landed safely on Dayton's runway 24L about 30 minutes later.

A replacement CRJ-700 registration N702PS reached Washington with a delay of 5 hours.
