A JAL Japan Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration JA734J performing flight JL-9 from Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA) to Tokyo Narita (Japan) with 232 people on board, departed Chicao's runway 10L and was climbing out of Chicago when the crew received abnormal indications for the right hand brakes. A runway inspection found parts of a wheel assembly on the runway. In absence of any further issue the crew continued the flight to Tokyo, performed a low approach to Tokyo's runway 34L on Dec 29th 2015 to have the gear inspected from the ground and landed safely on runway 34L about 20 minutes after the low approach and 13 hours after departure.

Japan's Ministry of Transport reported the parts found on Chicago's runway was a box containing sensors for the (automatic) brakes of the right hand main gear.
