An AirAsia Zest Airbus A320-200, registration RP-C8988 performing flight Z2-763 from Manila to Cebu City (Philippines) with 166 people on board, was on approach to Cebu City when the crew reported a minor technical problem and requested to be towed to the apron. The aircraft continued for a safe landing and was towed to the apron.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported the aircraft suffered a hydraulic problem resulting in the loss of nose wheel steering.

The airline denied a hydraulic problem but said there was a technical problem requiring the aircraft to be towed to the apron, the cause is still under examination.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Cebu City for 11 hours then departed for the return flight Z2-764 and reached Manila with a delay of 10:15 hours.
