A Thomson Airways Boeing 757-200, registration G-OOBF performing flight BY-6278 from Bristol,EN (UK) to Tenerife South,CI (Spain), was enroute at FL370 about 50nm southwest of Porto (Portugal) when the crew decided to turn around and divert to London Gatwick,EN (UK) due to a cracked windshield. The aircraft climbed to FL380 and landed safely at Gatwick Airport about 2:50 hours after turning around.

A Boeing 757-200 registration G-OOBN operated an unscheduled flight BY-265 from London Gatwick to Manchester,EN (UK) about 2.5 hours after landing, departed Manchester as flight BY-6278 about one hour after landing in Manchester and arrived in Tenerife with a total delay of 8.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Gatwick 26 hours after landing.
