A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-200, registration 9M-MRL performing flight MH-19 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), was enroute at FL340 about 100nm northeast of Chennai (India) when the crew decided to divert to Chennai when all toilets on board became unserviceable. The aircraft landed safely in Chennai about 90 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 2 hours, the toilets were serviced and became operative again, and the aircraft continued to Kuala Lumpur for a safe landing with a delay of 4.5 hours.

The airline confirmed the aircraft diverted to Chennai to have the toilets fixed.
