A jet2.com Boeing 737-300, registration G-GDFG performing flight LS-195 from Leeds,EN (UK) to Prague (Czech Republic), was enroute at FL350 about 40nm northwest of Dusseldorf (Germany) when a male passenger (22) suffered from oxygen starvation prompting the crew to divert to Dusseldorf for a safe landing on runway 23L about 15 (!) minutes later. The passenger had to be pronounced dead upon arrival however, he had suffocated on his own vomit.

The aircraft reached Prague with a delay of 5:45 hours.

Passenger Dan reported to have travelled with the patient, a close friend of him. His friend was extremely fit though asthmatic and stopped breathing passing away peacefully, he assumed it may have been an asthma attack though he isn't aware of a confirmed cause of his passing.

Another passenger reported he wasn't aware of the initial stages of the emergency. When he got aware he saw the patient being attended by two cabin crew, he believed they were trying to administer oxygen. The patient had vomited clearly identifyable through the smell. Crew called for a doctor on board, a passenger, possibly as a medical student, identified himself but did not get involved in providing assistance to the patient. The captain announced they would divert to Dusseldorf and land in 10 minutes, after landing medical staff entered the cabin with oxygen supply, the oxygen however was not used anymore. The passenger assumed the patient was pronounced dead by then, the patient was subsequently taken away accompanied by his friends. Cabin crew had acted very compassionate and showed a lot of dedication and professionalism, the patient seemed to have passed away peacefully.
