A Sata Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration CS-TKJ performing flight S4-175 from Porto to Ponta Delgada (Portugal) with 152 passengers and 7 crew, had received departure information advising runway 17 was active for departures. After the aircraft had pushed back and was taxiing for departure when the captain requested runway 35 for departure, ATC indicated that it would not be possible and instructed the aircraft to taxi to the holding point runway 17 and repeatedly instructed to expedite taxi. The crew observed the brakes temperatures rising through 250 degrees C and after arrival at the hold short line at the runway wanted some time to have the brakes cool off and complete their departure runway computations having become necessary by the short notice of the runway change, however, immediately received take off clearance. The commander considered to deny the clearance but then decided to go ahead with takeoff despite expecting the brakes temperatures to rise through 300 degrees C. The aircraft departed without incident, the gear was left extended after becoming airborne until the brakes temperatures had reduced to 180 degrees C, and completed the flight with a safe landing at the Azores Islands.

On Jun 19th 2015 Portugal's Gabinete de Prevencao e Investigacao de Acidentes com Aeronaves (GPIAA) reported, that the GPIAA opened an investigation into the flight after the commander of the flight had reported: "the pressure placed by ATC did not allow the calculation of the appropriate performance for take-off".

On Jun 22nd 2015 the GPIAA advised The Aviation Herald of an erroneous interpretation of the translation from the Portugese initial note and confirmed, it was the captain who had requested runway 35, however, air traffic control issued instructions to taxi to runway 17 due to traffic on final to runway 17.
