A Qantas Airbus A380-800, registration VH-OQI performing flight QF-93 from Melbourne,VI (Australia) to Los Angeles,CA (USA), was climbing out of Melbourne when the crew stopped the climb at FL250 and decided to divert to Sydney,NS (Australia) dumping fuel on the way. The aircraft landed safely in Sydney about 90 minutes after departure.

A passenger reported the crew announced there had been a problem with the air conditioning systems, in addition there was a problem with the APU. They diverted to Sydney dumping fuel on the way there.

The airline reported a mechanical issue, the passengers have been supplied with a complimentary lunch.

The aircraft was able to depart Sydney after about 7 hours on the ground, climbed to FL350 and is currently estimated to reach Los Angeles with a delay of 8:15 hours.
