A KLM Airbus A330-200, registration PH-AOA performing flight KL-765 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Aruba (Aruba) with 203 people on board, had been enroute at FL400 and was in the initial descent towards Aruba when the crew reported they suspected a fuel leak at the left hand side. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Aruba's runway 11, emergency services confirmed a fuel leak from the left engine (CF6), the engine was shut down on the runway before the aircraft taxied to the apron. The runway needed to be cleaned.

The onward flights to Bonaire and Amsterdam were cancelled.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Aruba about 50 hours after landing.
