An Aeroflot Airbus A320-200, registration VQ-BEJ performing flight SU-1458 from Moscow Sheremteyevo to Novokuznetsk (Russia) with 69 passengers and 8 crew, was on approach to Novokuznetsk when the crew aborted the approach due to problems with the flaps. The aircraft entered a hold while the crew was working the checklists. The aircraft landed safely in Novekuznetsk at a rather normal speed about 50 minutes after aborting the first approach.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Novokuznetsk.

A replacement A320 registration VP-BZO was dispatched to Novokuznetsk from Moscow Sheremetyevo, performed the return flight SU-1459 and reached Moscow with a delay of 11 hours.
