An Air France Boeing 777-300, registration F-GZNE performing flight AF-267 from Seoul (South Korea) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) with 290 passengers and 18 crew, was enroute at FL340 about 400nm north of Ekaterinburg (Russia) when the crew needed to shut the left hand engine (GE90) down. The aircraft drifted down to FL200 and diverted south to Ekaterinburg for a safe landing on runway 26R about 2 hours after leaving FL340.

A replacement Boeing 777-300 registration F-GSQF had just reached Ekaterinburg and is expected to resume the flight the following day and to reach Paris with a delay of 26.5 hours.

The airline confirmed the aircraft diverted to Ekaterinburg, all passengers have been taken to hotels.
