An ANA All Nippon Airways Boeing 767-300, registration JA8342 performing flight NH-303 from Nagoya to Okinawa (Japan) with 269 passengers and 8 crew, was climbing out of Nagoya when the crew received indication of a hydraulic failure. The crew stopped the climb and returned to Nagoya's Chubu Airport for a safe landing about 30 minutes after departure.

ANA reported that a post flight examination revealed lightning strike damage to the left hand flaps causing them to partly peel off.

A replacement Boeing 767-300 registration JA8360 reached Okinawa with a delay of 4 hours.
