An Air Canada Rouge Boeing 767-300, registration C-FMWV performing flight RV-1851/AC-1851 from Toronto,ON (Canada) to Las Vegas,NV (USA) with 291 people on board, was enroute at FL380 about 270nm east of Denver,CO (USA) when the crew noticed an unusually low oil quantity indication for the left hand engine (PW4060), worked the related checklists and initiated heightened monitoring of the engine parameters continuing the flight. A short time later the engine oil pressure dropped prompting the crew to shut the engine down and divert to Denver, where the aircraft landed safely about 50 minutes after the onset of trouble.

A replacement Boeing 767-300 registration C-FMWY reached Las Vegas with a delay of 8 hours.

The Canadian TSB reported that the aircraft had just completed an "A" check. Maintenance found an O-ring at the oil filter had been damaged during the oil filter installation resulting in the loss of oil.
