A British Airways Boeing 747-400, registration G-BNLF performing flight BA-256 from Delhi (India) to London Heathrow,EN (UK), was enroute about 30 minutes into the flight when the crew decided to return to Delhi. The aircraft dumped fuel and landed safely back in Delhi.

A passenger reported the captain explained they needed to return due to air conditioning being non-functional. Following landing in Delhi the passengers were kept on board in hot temperatures until maintenance decided they could not repair the air conditioning systems. The flight was subsequently cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto a multitude of other flights.

The incident aircraft returned to London on Jun 5th.
