The runway needed to be closed for several hours causing losses of slot times and significant delays to other flights.
The incident aircraft was still parked at Singapore's maintenance area on Jun 3rd.
Singapore's Civil Aviation Authority stated: "The aircraft reported burst tyres while it taxied onto Rapid Exit Taxiway (RET) E6. The aircraft could not be towed and required the burst tyres to be replaced. As the aircraft was not clear of the runway, the closure of the runway was required to facilitate the unloading of cargo from the aircraft at its stalled location before the tyres could be changed. Heavy rain and the threat of lightning strikes during the unloading of cargo also slowed down the recovery process which resulted in some flight delays."
