An American Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-83, registration N948TW performing flight AA-1641 from Little Rock,AR to Dallas Ft. Worth,TX (USA) with 142 people on board, was climbing through FL210 out of Little Rock,AR when the crew stopped the climb and decided to divert to Tulsa,OK (USA) reporting flight control difficulties. The crew subsequently requested additional maneouvering space as their ability to maneouver was limited and advised they would need to stop on the runway and be towed off the runway. The aircraft positioned for an approach to runway 36R and landed safely about 50 minutes after aborting the climb.

A replacement MD-83 registration N489AA reached Dallas Ft. Worth with a delay of 5.5 hours.
