A US Airways Airbus A319-100, registration N828AW performing flight US-2191 from New York La Guardia,NY to Washington National,DC (USA) with 96 passengers and 5 crew, was in the initial climb out of La Guardia's runway 13 when the crew reported a bird strike into the left hand engine (V2524) causing a "lot of vibration". The crew kept the engine operating, levelled off at 4000 feet and returned to La Guardia for a safe landing on runway 13 about 15 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
