A Caribbean Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration 9Y-BGI performing flight BW-600 from Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 95 people on board, was enroute at FL380 over the Atlantic Ocean about 250nm eastsoutheast of Norfolk,VA (USA) and 390nm northwest of Bermuda in contact with Oceanic Control when the crew declared emergency reporting they had fuel available only from one tank, that tank had 2300 kg/5000 lbs of fuel remaining with an endurance of 80 minutes. They wanted to divert to Bermuda. After being cleared direct to Bermuda by Oceanic Control the crew advised they would prefer to divert to Norfolk,VA (USA) and were cleared direct to Norfolk. The aircraft landed safely on Norfolk's runway 05 about 70 minutes after declaring emergency.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration 9Y-JMD was dispatched from Kingston (Jamaica) to Norfolk, resumed the flight and reached Toronto with a delay of 9 hours.

The incident aircraft is still on the ground in Norfolk about 28.5 hours after landing.
