An ANA All Nippon Airways Boeing 767-300 on behalf of Air Japan, registration JA616A performing flight NQ-1052/NH-1052 from Tokyo Narita (Japan) to Honolulu,HI (USA) with 228 people on board, was departing from Narita's runway 16L when the crew stopped the climb at 8000 feet suspecting they might have suffered a tail strike on departure. The aircraft burned off fuel and diverted to Tokyo's Haneda Airport for a safe landing on runway 34L about 3 hours after departure.

A replacement Boeing 767-300 registration JA608A departed Haneda Airport with a delay of 10 hours and is estimated to reach Honolulu with a delay of 9:45 hours.
