An Aeroflot Airbus A321-200, registration VP-BTG performing flight SU-1407 from Ekaterinburg to Moscow Sheremetyevo (Russia), stopped the climb out of Ekaterinburg at FL280 (below RVSM) and remained on FL280 enroute all the time for about two hours. On approach to Moscow the flight crew instructed passengers to assume brace positions for an expected hard landing, two air data systems had failed. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Sheremetyevo's runway 25L.

A passenger reported the aircraft was quite unusually squirrely in flight. After landing when asked the crew indicated that they had flown the aircraft manually all the way from takeoff to landing due to the speed sensors having iced up which did not permit the autopilot to be used.
