A China Southern Airlines Boeing 777-200 freighter, registration B-2071 performing flight CZ-479 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Chongqing (China), was enroute at FL350 about 30nm south of Kauna (Lithuania) when the crew reported problems with one of their engines (GE90) and descended the aircraft to FL310 at first then down to FL270. The crew subsequently decided to divert to St. Petersburg (Russia) for a safe landing with both engines still operating about one hour after leaving FL350.

The aircraft is still on the ground at Pulkovo Airport about 14 hours after landing.
