A Vietnam Airlines Airbus A330-200, flight VN-1159 from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), was enroute near Da Nang about 30 minutes into the flight when the crew received indication of loss of cabin pressure and initiated an emergency descent. The passenger oxygen masks were automatically released during the descent. The aircraft subsequently diverted to Da Nang for a safe landing.

A replacement aircraft took the passenger to Ho Chi Minh City the following day.

The airline confirmed the crew received indication of loss of cabin pressure followed by the automatic release of passenger oxygen masks. The aircraft positioned to Hanoi on May 25th, where the passenger oxygen mask generators were reloaded, the masks restowed, a safety examination carried out and the aircraft resumed service with no further occurrence. The cause of the indication still needs to be determined.
