A UTAir Ukraine Avions de Transport Regional ATR-42-300, registration UR-UTE performing flight QU-129 from Donetsk (Ukraine) to Moscow Vnukovo (Russia), was just rotating for takeoff from Donetsk when the crew spotted a dog on the runway. The crew decided to continue the flight to the destination, where the aircraft landed safely.

Ukraine's State Aviation Service reported in their monthly bulletin that only after landing in Moscow damage was found that resulted from the right hand main gear hitting the dog. An investigation was not opened into the occurrence, however. A safety recommendation to all Ukrainian Airport Operators was re-iterated to provide proper fencing.
