A Lufthansa Airbus A321-200, registration D-AIDI performing flight LH-2421 from Stockholm (Sweden) to Munich (Germany) with 104 passengers and 6 crew, was in the initial climb out of Stockholm's runway 19R when the crew stopped the climb at 3000 feet reporting that the right hand engine (V2533) had surged, it was reduced to idle and they suspected it would stall again. The aircraft returned to Stockholm's runway 01L about 20 minutes after departure and taxied to the gate.

The flight was cancelled.
