An Etihad Airbus A320-200, registration A6-EIJ performing flight EY-69 from Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) to Moscow Domodedovo (Russia), was enroute at FL340 about 100nm east of Rostov on Don (Russia) when the crew initiated an emergency descent due to the loss of cabin pressure and subsequently diverted to Rostov on Don for a safe landing on runway 04 about 40 minutes later.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled. The aircraft is still on the ground in Rostov about 12 hours after landing.

The airline commented the aircraft diverted for operational reasons.
