A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700, registration N248WN performing flight WN-2675 from Los Angeles,CA to Austin,TX (USA) with 143 passengers, was enroute at FL370 south of Phoenix,AZ when a phone call was received on the ground indicating a bomb was on board of the aircraft. Fighter aircraft were dispatched to check and escort the aircraft, the crew was informed when the aircraft was about 90nm southeast of Phoenix and decided to divert to Phoenix, where the aircraft landed safely about 25 minutes later. The aircraft was guided to a remote stand, the passengers disembarked.

The aircraft, passengers and luggage were searched but no suspicious items were found.

The aircraft was able to continue the flight after 7 hours on the ground and reached Austin with a delay of 8:15 hours.
