Kelowna B722 at Regina on May 13th 2013, laser beam incapacitates first officer

A Kelowna Flightcraft Boeing 727-200, registration C-GLKF performing freight flight KFA-290 from Regina,SK to Winnipeg,MB (Canada) with 3 crew, was climbing through 1200 feet out of Regina when the aircraft was hit by a green laser beam from the ground. The first officer was temporarily incapacitated with severe pain to both eyes, the second officer was also affected though to a lesser degrees. The crew decided to continue the flight to Winnipeg, where both injured were taken to a hospital.

The Canadian TSB reported that the crew immediately informed ATC, Regina police was advised. After landing both injured pilots were taken to a hospital, received treatment and were released with minor injuries, but have been removed from further duty.
