An Aeroflot Airbus A320-200, registration VP-BRZ performing flight SU-1150 from Moscow Sheremetyevo to Gelendzik (Russia) with 120 passengers and 5 crew, was departing Sheremetyevo's runway 25L when immediately after retracting the landing gear a loud bang was heard and the right hand engine (CFM56) showed vibrations. The crew actioned the relevant checklists, stopped the climb at 1000 meters (3300 feet) and returned to Sheremetyevo Airport for a safe landing on runway 25R about 15 minutes after departure.

Rosaviatsia reported evidence of a bird strike resulting in fan blade damage was discovered after landing.
