A Brussels Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration OO-SFW performing flight SN-222 from Banjul (Gambia) to Brussels (Belgium), was enroute at FL390 near Nouakchott at the same time.
The French BEA reported that both crews received TCAS resolution advisories and responded according to the advisories while enroute at FL390 near Nouakchott. Mauritiania's Accident Investigation Board opened an investigation into the serious incident.
Both aircraft continued for safe landings at their destinations.
