An Air France Boeing 777-200, registration F-GSPE performing flight AF-76 from Los Angeles,CA (USA) to Papeete (Tahiti), flew through a flock of 50 small birds (vini) and ingested a number into an engine (GE90) while on final approach to Papeete. The aircraft continued for a safe landing.

The airline confirmed a bird strike while landing in Papeete, the return flight had to be cancelled due to necessary inspections and repairs.
