An American Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N7375A performing flight AA-38 from Miami,FL (USA) to London Heathrow,EN (UK), was enroute at FL330 over the Atlantic Ocean about 250nm west of Bermuda, when the crew reported problems with the altimeters, descended the aircraft to FL240 and diverted to New York for a safe landing on JFK's runway 31L about 90 minutes later.

A replacement Boeing 767-300 registration N346AN reached London with a delay of 4:20 hours.

A passenger reported the crew announced altimeter problems, they were diverting to JFK Airport.
